At the peak of a remarkable career which has left him brimming with knowledge, experience, savoir-faire, and most particularly a clinical and perspicacious eye over all the aesthetic, theatrical and musical innovations of our modern age, Costa Campos (baritone) has sagely decided to bequeath, in the form of his students, his Cultural Heritage - his own theatrical, musical and performative aesthetics, rich in the treasures which have always made Opera magnificent yet ever ready to face the challenging, inventive necessities of modern operatic staging; a legacy which makes him, and his mentees, proud.
Costa Campos has taken his disciples - whose only limitation is their natural, unescapable learning time - to sing in the most varied places, in the firm belief (proved right, time and again) that this is crucial for their artistic and humane development. The Costa Campos Cultural Heritage has seen its pupils in such worthy and distinct locales as the National Palace of Ajuda; the Foz Palace; collaborating with the Town Hall of Bragança; in solidarity projects at the Saldanha; even school projects at the São Carlos National Theatre. Every saturday evening they sing their usual operatic repertoire at the Vila Galé Ópera Hotel, as they have sung it at the Exibicionista Art Gallery; and they have sung selections from various popular songs and musicals at the theatre A Barraca, at the Mercado de Fusão initiative in the heart of Marim Moniz, and at the Príncipe Real for several consecutive years.
Presently composed of three tutees the Costa Campos Cultural Heritage makes its voice and its art available to whomever wishes to welcome them. With a wide ranging repertoire at their disposal, which travels from traditional Opera to modern Musicals and includes such genres as Spiritual and Lied; with such vocal technique as allows their performances the hybrid, rich and vibrant names of Pop Opera and World Music; with a number of pre-recorded backing music pieces in lieu of a concert pianist; these young artists are available for a wide range of events, and can easily perform with the barest of means: a set of loudspeakers (preferably connected to a mixing table), some rehearsal space, and their enourmous pleasure of singing especially for you.
